Anno 1930 – Gold Medal In Design
The saga began in 1930 when Emìl’s great-grandfather, Anthon Korterud, established a factory that soon distinguished itself by winning a gold medal for its outstanding design. Known for its masterful production methods and impeccable quality, Anthon’s creations became staples in specialty stores, museums, and boutiques all over Norway. Even today, his designs continue to grace museum collections, testaments to a timeless aesthetic.
The baton of craftsmanship was passed down through the generations, from Anthon to Emìl’s grandfather, Alf Emìl Holmsen, and then to his father, Didrik Emìl Holmsen. Our Name
The name “Fecini” elegantly merges the Latin verb “fecit,” which means “he/she made it” and is traditionally used to attribute authorship (click to read more) to various art forms such as paintings, sculptures, engravings, or buildings, with “infinity,” symbolizing the boundless scope of creativity. This combination of classical heritage and forward-looking aspiration is reflected in every Fecini creation. Each piece is a testament to enduring craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the historic artisanal signature “fecit,” a mark with which craftsmen proudly identified their work.
