Emìl, your passion for design is evident in Fecini’s collections. Can you share what ignites your creativity?

My inspiration stems from various cultural and artistic periods. As an artist at heart, I find beauty in both historical and modern designs. The Renaissance period, in particular, captivates me. My Octa collection pays homage to this era, drawing inspiration from the iconic Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral in Florence. It all began during my childhood when I visited the Marciana Library in Venice at the age of eight. The intricate designs and the harmony between human and mathematical proportions in Renaissance art left a lasting impression on me.

Your journey has been quite diverse, from military service to global business ventures. How have these experiences influenced Fecini?

My curiosity and desire for adventure have always pushed me beyond traditional paths. Serving as a military officer on international missions taught me the value of precision and craftsmanship, which are now the foundation of every Fecini creation. Post-military, I ventured into the business world, where I learned that success requires perseverance, discipline, and a keen attention to detail. Founding several companies and personally recruiting over 100 employees, I’ve embraced challenges head-on, from Oslo to Miami. These experiences reinforced my belief in the limitless potential of dedication and innovation.

Your leadership and management skills are impressive. How do they translate into your role at Fecini?

Beyond my artistic passion, I bring a wealth of experience in business development and investments to Fecini. Having lived and worked in diverse regions like Miami, Central Europe, Asia, and Scandinavia, I’ve honed my skills in operations management and high-level decision-making. My military background has instilled in me a sense of discipline and strategic thinking. These qualities are essential in leading Fecini, where creativity meets business acumen. My certification as a skydiver and diver, along with awards like the prestigious NATO Medal, reflect my fearless spirit and commitment to excellence.

Fecini’s name has a unique origin. Could you elaborate on its significance?

The name “Fecini” elegantly merges the Latin verb “fecit,” meaning “he/she made it,” with “infinity,” symbolizing boundless creativity. This blend of classical heritage and forward-looking aspiration is reflected in every Fecini creation. Each piece is a testament to enduring craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the historic artisanal signature “fecit,” a mark with which craftsmen proudly identified their work. It embodies our commitment to creating heirlooms that encapsulate stories of courage, love, and perseverance.

Fecini’s journey is marked by ‘anomalies’—serendipitous deviations that shape our unique style. Regular interactions with diverse, creative minds infuse our traditional designs with fresh, unconventional elements. Our commitment to innovation and excellence remains steadfast. We’re constantly exploring new materials and techniques to merge beauty with meaningful narratives. Emìl, can you share any fun or unexpected moments that have shaped your journey with Fecini?

Absolutely! One of my fondest memories involves a spontaneous collaboration with a local artist in a small Italian village. During a vacation, I stumbled upon a street artist creating mesmerizing sculptures out of recycled materials. We struck up a conversation and ended up collaborating on a unique piece that combined his recycled art with Fecini’s signature elegance. Another memorable moment was when I was skydiving, mid-air, conceived the design for one of our most popular rings. It was as if the rush of the free fall unlocked a new level of creativity. These experiences remind me that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places and moments, adding a layer of excitement and unpredictability to the journey.

Sure! One thing many people don’t know is that I’m an avid enthusiast of contemporary art. I visit art galleries all over the world on my travles. And I’m a member of the National Museum of Norway and visit it regularly to immerse myself in the latest exhibitions. This exposure to cutting-edge art continuously fuels my creativity. Additionally, I love discovering new music and often listen to tracks from up-and-coming artists while working. The combination of contemporary visual art and fresh musical talent provides a unique backdrop for my design process, inspiring new ideas and perspectives for Fecini’s collections.
